Vivid Shade

Fronted by ZoeJoey, Vivid Shade is an emerging independent band, coming up in the Singapore scene. The genre defying duo independently write, record, and produce their music in their small home studio. Vivid Shade has released their first 2 singles in the beginning of 2019 and they immediately showed the world that they are not afraid to experiment with different styles of music. Their second single <a href="spotify:album:1FH4SaTTsnE5xhA12wHsY7" data-name="I&#39;ll Do It">I&#39;ll Do It</a> quickly gained the attention of music bloggers, and received several positive reviews. Fans and blogs have compared Vivid Shade’s style to <a href="spotify:artist:053q0ukIDRgzwTr4vNSwab" data-name="Grimes">Grimes</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4k1ELeJKT1ISyDv8JivPpB" data-name="The Prodigy">The Prodigy</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6liAMWkVf5LH7YR9yfFy1Y" data-name="Portishead">Portishead</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7w29UYBi0qsHi5RTcv3lmA" data-name="Björk">Björk</a>.


Vivid Shade continued to further explore this darker, electronic based direction and in the spring of 2019 started to work on their debut EP, Clickbait, filled will synth drenched dark pop songs that are heavily influenced by synthwave, EDM, trap, and 90s industrial music. The EP is a concept mini album that explores the effects of social media and technology on society, and what the future holds for us.


<a href="spotify:album:6uDNrZDXiIvsAkDXFsMU9i" data-name="Goodbye, World!">Goodbye, World!</a> was their first single from their Clickbait EP, which received comparisons to <a href="spotify:artist:0X380XXQSNBYuleKzav5UO" data-name="Nine Inch Nails">Nine Inch Nails</a> mixed with <a href="spotify:artist:6qqNVTkY8uBg9cP3Jd7DAH" data-name="Billie Eilish">Billie Eilish</a>. They were listed by Bandwagon in their “Youth of the Nation: Eight musicians aged 18 and below you need to know” article, and performed at the TONES 2019 music festival where they premiered their darker and more visual stage show to much praise.
