Vlastur is an innovative Psydub artist from Greece, known for his eclectic sound that fuses Dub, Dubstep, Psy, Ambient, Drum & Bass, and Traditional Mediterranean sounds.
He began his career in the mid-80s as the cofounder and bassist of Athens-based funk group Cohash Funk, before joining the experimental dub project Direct Connection in 1998 as their FX sound engineer. In the years following, he collaborated with various projects until 2009 which brought the release of his debut album Interaxion Dub, a blend of his accumulated skills and diverse taste in music.
Notable works since include his Parvati In Dub EP (2015), the Dub Band In Trance EP (2019), and the upcoming album RESET which was mastered at Abbey Road Studios. Vlastur has also made a name for himself as a remixer, reinterpreting works from the likes of Bombay Dub Orchestra, Gaudi, Ace Ventura, Juno Reactor, Youth, Jef Stott, and Saafi Brothers.
He has been a powerhouse in live music, performing at festivals across Europe, Asia and South America, most notably opening the OZORA festival in front of 35,000 people in 2023. After making waves in the psytrance scene, Vlastur has evolved into the world of ethno-electronic and ambient dub music, embracing his Greek roots. His upcoming album Reset, set to release in December, reflects this new direction and marks an exciting chapter in his artistic journey.
