Voice of Art is a collaborative art-pop project founded by five Danish artists during the 2020 lockdown: Kenneth Bager, Troels Hammer, OliO, Dj Divo and Jacob Andersen, one of the most prolific percussionists in Danish music who sadly passed away this April.

Inspired by Laurie Anderson, Fourth World Music, Wim Mertens, The Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Pat Metheny, Phillip Glass, Vangelis, early 90s Cafe Del Mar tapes, sunsets in Ibiza, strange encounters, funny studio anecdotes, oblique paths of consciousness and the weird metaphysical mood of our time.

The collaborative sessions strive for a zone of fertile chaos, embracing the illogical and disjunctive. The idea is about reconciling pop music with the view of friction as impressionist energy.

“The album features some of the most exciting music I’ve made in the past decade” says Kenneth Bager. The full experience will be released later this year.

All artwork is created by Gerda Thune Andersen.
