Vokab Kompany is a genre-defying collection of sound comprised of vocalists Rob Hurt (B3k) & Burkey (also of Red Giant Project).
With live accompaniments by their five-piece band, they use heavy synths, guitars, saxophone, bass and drums to create an innovative sound accompanied by clever lyrics and anthemic hooks. The San Diego natives have toured extensively with acts such as Shpongle, Zion I, Hieroglyphics, Umphrey’s McGree, Collie Budz, Lyrics Born, among a slew of others, playing festivals from coast to coast (Electric Forest, Shambahla (BC), LIB, Coachella (Do Lab) etc.) They also found themselves as hometown favorites, garnering 5 San Diego Music Awards for best hip hop artist-which is an interesting feat for a band that could just as easily be called Electronic, Funk, Jam or Rap in the same breath, they’ve had a dozen commercial syncs as well: KIA, Southern Comfort, Starzz to name a few. All in All, these guys have been a West Coast presence for almost two decades.
