VoodooV

VoodooV is a four piece groove machine from Finland playing a cocktail of tight funk rhythms, mellow choruses and psychedelic solos with the intensity of a rock band. The name is a palindrome inspired by the works of artists such as Oscar Reutersvärd, as well as the spiritual philosophy at the core of the band.

During the pandemic musicians gathered to jam
and spend aimless evenings in a studio nicknamed "The Bunker". The Bunker became somewhat of a lifeboat for the social lives of the group and their friends, while everything was under lockdown or cancelled.

Many jam nights, parties and recording sessions later VoodooV emerged as a band at the final steps of completing their debut album. The band began playing shows regularly and started releasing singles, quickly gaining fans in Finland and abroad.

"Jamgem" debut album was released in 2023 as digital and vinyl with listeners around the globe. As the album name suggests, the spirits and energy of The Bunker days (and nights) are present in the sound. It is a response to uncertain times when there is only one way left to react to the surrounding madness.

As the chapter of releasing "Jamgem" began to come to a close,
the band found themselves already sitting on enough material for a second album. The recording started in early 2024, this time with the embrace of the world and it's possibilities outside of The Bunker.
