“Alouv” is the first album of debut artist VUOLA: a Finnish drummer, producer and studio manager Jussi Vuola. In his music there’s a shimmer in darkness, a touch in space, beauty in distortion and aspiration in despair. A history of growing with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and the like is being shaped with low tunings, vibration and chanting on his concept album based both on geometrics and syntax.
All proceeds of the anticipated, esoteric, heavy hitting album will be donated to the victims of the Ukraine war via UNICEF.
Reviews:
From beginning to end, there’s no arguing the aesthetical origins of Vuola’s first album Alouv; both in form and execution, this is undeniably a rock record, but the way it goes about presenting physicality and musical might in the way most rock releases do is surprisingly innovative. Alouv challenges us to think about rock in an entirely different fashion.

There’s a sense of justness in this tracklist that is born of a player making thoughtful music exclusively, which is why I think so much of this record plays out more like a drama on the screen than it does a conventional rock LP.
Mark Druery - IndieShark
There’s always a story being told in tandem with another in Alouv, reflecting the multidimensionality of this artist beyond question. In the wake of its completion, it feels like we’ve just experienced a longhand poem rather than a rock n’ roll record.
