A band motivated by the alternative guitar rock of American bands like <a href="spotify:artist:5UqTO8smerMvxHYA5xsXb6">Sonic Youth</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6olE6TJLqED3rqDCT0FyPh">Nirvana</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:6zvul52xwTWzilBZl6BUbT">the Pixies</a>, as well as British rock giants such as <a href="spotify:artist:3WrFJ7ztbogyGnTHbHJFl2">the Beatles</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7MhMgCo0Bl0Kukl93PZbYS">Blur</a>, the Czech Republic's Vypsana Fixa formed in 1995. After a quartet of demos, the band secured a more "official" deal and released its debut, Brutální Vsechno (Everything Brutal), in 2001 on BMG. The band would follow the debut up with Bestiálne Stastní (Beastly Happy) in 2003. Building on their initial successes, Vypsana released a live CD and a live DVD in 2006. Members Mardi, Meyla, Mejn, and Pitrs released album number four in 2007. That album, entitled Fenomén, released on Sony, was a huge hit, landing at the top spot on the Czech album charts. ~ Chris True, Rovi
