w-lar (pronounced ['WEL - 'AH] ) is a visionary producer-artist from London.
His musical journey began in childhood with piano lessons and a love for video game soundtracks. He first explored music production age six through playing the game Music 2000 (also known as MTV Music Generator), leading to discovering FL Studio around age eleven, which has since been the tool he uses to experiment with Hip-Hop, R&B, and alternative sounds.
Though music was always a passion, it wasn’t until after earning a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing that he fully committed to making it his life. Seeking a path that truly reflected who he was in the world, he began merging his writing and vocals with his production - and has been driven ever since to deepen his connection to music and storytelling.
Through his music, w-lar crafts immersive soundscapes layered with story and detail. For him, creating music means to express his voice and authenticity in ways that speak to others, for others.
