WALDEMAR FALCÃO worked as a flutist and vocalist for artists such as Zé Ramalho, Amelinha, João de Aquino, Elba Ramalho, Moraes Moreira, Steve Hackett and also as a sound engineer and music producer for Mario Adnet, Steve Hackett, Ritchie, Moraes Moreira, Armandinho and the Dodô&Osmar Electric Trio, among many others.
His first solo work was released by Savalla Records in 2020 and features songs recorded from 1984 to the present day, including a posthumous partnership with Mario Quintana: Falcão set to music the famous poem “Das Utopias”, by the great poet from Rio Grande do Sul.
Now there is a new project — instrumental — in partnership with keyboardist, composer and arranger Fernando Moura, his old friend and musical partner. A fusion between music and astrology that was named “MusiCosmos”. The duo's first work is a sequence of twelve songs, one for each sign of the Zodiac. All of them are available on all platforms.
The duo's second album, called “Dreaming Skies”, is also online: twelve songs named after the brightest stars in the sky. Also vailable on all platforms.
And now we have a new release from the duo: “Pela Paz” (For Peace), an appeal for world peace with special guest Lucielle le Fay playing Arabic percussion.
“To Waldemar's ear, the viola style of our singers and the singing of Latvian women sound harmonious, and the northeastern forró has more things in common with the classical music of India than our daily distractions might suppose.”
