Walt is back and full of poached eggs and trifle! Fresh from huge shows with Embrace and Evil Blizzard plus a live session with BBC Introducing - Walt returns with a new single “A Nineties Reference Lost on a Noughties Baby” released on the 11th of July. The song is about looking back on teenage dreams and how things panned out from a retrospective eye.
The band are in preparation for a run of festival performances and a headline show at “YES” in Manchester on the 11th of September. The shows will include projections, props and costumes . Walt is ALIVE (slightly decomposing)
“Having been in several ‘meat and potato’ indie bands the last thing I wanted to serve was a shepherd’s pie” explains Alfie Enzo, the brainchild behind Leeds band Walt’s Frozen Head. “Hopefully, this is more poached eggs and trifle”. Take that as you will, but it’s best seen as an explanation and ethos behind Walt’s Frozen Head, and the myriad facets that combine to make them what they are. Blending a chaotic mix of influences such as prog, surreal comedy, synth pop, psych, horror, art rock and B movies.
In theory, it shouldn’t work, on paper however…
Taking as much inspiration from Terry Gilliam’s cartoons as from ‘60s psych/avant-garde pop, the Leeds band are genuinely offering something different.
The bands name is based around the myth that Walt Disney requested that his head be frozen to be brought back to life in the future.
The descent into madness has never sounded so good!
