After a five-year hiatus, Wandering Lake returns with "Wild Dogs". The project, helmed by singer/songwriter Brian Kupillas, has been slowly expanding over these last few years from where it began in a humble college apartment in Northwest Arkansas. The progression has recently brought producer and major collaborator, Conrad Burnham into the fold. Burnham, a composer, noise and ambient artist, helps deliver a wider sample of sounds that have made the music richer. Over the course of five years, and four states; in apartments, and garages, bedrooms and a ranch out in the Mojave desert, Kupillas wrote and recorded his first music to be released since late 2015 and with the careful work of Burnham, Wandering Lake has entered into entirely new territory. There are eleven total songs that, when collected, make up the new album "Wild Dogs"--the name of which is inspired by Roberto Bolano’s poem “Dirty, Poorly Dressed” from his book “The Romantic Dogs”. The music both reaches back into the traditional singer/songwriter canon while also extending itself forward into the avant-garde, offering something familiar yet new.
