Wanderland began its life as the songwriting project of duo <a href="spotify:artist:7lGYGsStLXkooPtqVhjuQb" data-name="Matt Robinson">Matt Robinson</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:1ZPAgyQWvU84GMEI5ceK3u" data-name="Snowpoet">Snowpoet</a>) and <a href="spotify:artist:6IAyiIhAv2JHGDRzAXllFl" data-name="Natalie Wildgoose">Natalie Wildgoose</a>.
After setting up in rural North Yorkshire in a remote old mill next to an ice cold waterfall, the duo wrote and recorded their first two EPs. The introspective and isolated setting became an incredibly generative time and they dubbed the project Wanderland intentionally as it was born out of the exploration of the wilderness.
Collaborators and friends also show up across the EP including guitarist Tara Cunningham (<a href="spotify:artist:42UrtNQs4h6NtJxVoKkFmA" data-name="Tenderhost">Tenderhost</a>), drummer <a href="spotify:artist:7FeAapUDNO0OrtDOFuWPcg" data-name="Dave Hamblett">Dave Hamblett</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:2jIhiAEbmLrPj69WLM2R3V" data-name="The Magic Lantern">The Magic Lantern</a>) and bassist's Max Luthert (<a href="spotify:artist:2KwROtmoJfRcQHqDMiV6uo" data-name="Zara McFarlane">Zara McFarlane</a>) and Tom Mccredie (<a href="spotify:artist:7dWWrUu4v70sxCnz2iIf2x" data-name="Seafarers">Seafarers</a>).
Hailed by BBC Radio 1, BBC6 Music and BBC Introducing as ‘One of the best records in 2021’ Wanderland have been described as “Wonderfully atmospheric” by CLASH Magazine.
Following sold out performances at The Greennote, Wilderness Festival, How The Light Gets In festival, and regular events with South East London’s Bad Vibrations they now release 'Songs, II' their second EP.
The EP at times is surreal and immediate, at others quiet and considered; raucous roadhouse guitar and distorted synths sit neatly alongside simple delicate ballads.
