Warehouse 53 formed of 4 University of Glasgow students (Jon Tonge, Conor O’Hare, Lewis Wiles & Regan Kelly) in 2018 after each answered each other’s advertisements in the Uni’s Contemporary Musicians Union. Two Irishmen, an Englishman and a Scotsman, they quickly realised that this mix fostered a unique creative environment and nurtured a songwriting style as competitive as it is collaborative.
The first year of Warehouse 53’s existence was spent collating influences and building an extensive repertoire of songs twinged with notes of indie rock, trad, punk, ska, britpop, merseybeat, math rock.... the list goes on. Coronavirus might have brought the band’s burgeoning gig career frequenting the Glasgow & Edinburgh indie scene to a crashing halt, but not before some of their demos posted online caught the attention of Edinburgh indie label Esplanade Records. A deal was agreed to cut the double A side single ‘Growing Up’ available to stream on all platforms now.
Warehouse 53 is available for your venue, band night or function, anywhere in the U.K. Simply email warehouse53band@gmail.com
