Warsaw Gamelan Group is a Polish-Indonesian gamelan community established by the students and alumni of the Institute of Musicology of the University of Warsaw and a former staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw, Soegianto Darmonegoro. WGG performs mostly traditional Javanese music (karawitan Jawa), shadow theatre (wayang kulit) and dances, but its repertoire also includes Javanese popular music (dangdut, campur sari), as well as new compositions written by contemporary composers (both Indonesian and Western).
