Washburn and the River

Ever since he stumbled upon Bon Iver's timeless debut, For Emma Forever Ago, as a freshman in high school, Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter & producer J Rose has been penning his own brand of heartfelt songs on love, loss and the often murky in-between we find ourselves in.

As an overly curious and introspective kid from the suburbs of Boston, J was drawn to his late grandmother's 100 year old steinway piano, parked longingly in his families living room. He began teaching himself to improvise and channel the deep reservoirs of emotion that lay dormant in his bones as a way of making sense of the layered complexities in the world around him.

Following college, J emerged with 'Fear of Fallow Season's Greetings' linking up with Indie-rock darlings Toledo to bring his vision to life. J's debut single off the record "Fear" amassed over 150k streams across all platforms.

In the past handful of years, J has steadily built up his craft as a well rounded multi-instrumentalist, co-writer, film composer, session musician, and budding producer to marry with his love of thoughtful and expansive songwriting, culminating in his newly home recorded EP 'Space Holder'.
