Wasim Qassis is a composer and performer who plays on several music instruments like BuZuk and percussion .He studied music as private learning in Damascus Syria beside his university education ,so he graduated as an agriculture engineer, then he studied also in the Edward Said national music conservatory in Palestine. He has several experiences in the field of composition and arrangement, he did music soundtracks for about 15 films, feature and documentary, including “the last moon” for the director Miguel Latin, from Chili origin Palestinian. “War kids”,”kanun”,”das madchin und das photo” for the German director Marc Wiese.
Qassis worked with Sabreen association for artistic development in Palestine for about 8 years, in his credit, there are about 700 school concert for children, and he toured with Sabreen band as a percussionist local and worldwide . In Norway he did more than 100 school concert through “rikskonsertne “ in cooperation with Sabreen .
He established his own band with his friends and called it Jadal group. They played different styles of music including traditional, gypsy, jazz, Arabic and Oriental music.
