Watching Planes are influenced by the melodic side of British indie, as well as classic pop & rock. Songwriters Kris Wilkins and Duncan Morter met in Oxford in the late 1990s and have since amassed a large catalogue of songs: an eclectic mix of irresistibly melodic tunes with rich vocal harmonies and insightful lyrics.

Although Watching Planes have been playing live for many years, Something Has To Fall is their first album release. Featuring songs written in the 90s and early 2000s, it was recorded at their studios in East Yorkshire and Hampshire.

Kris Wilkins sings all vocals and plays acoustic guitar, Duncan Morter plays lead guitar, piano, synth and bass guitar and Archie Morter (Duncan&#39;s son, <a href="spotify:artist:03231gXny6uGhh2AMdCVWk" data-name="Just Me and the Geese">Just Me and the Geese</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1t56JNFS7neP1PDPe67rHZ" data-name="Mixtur">Mixtur</a>) plays drums. George Smith (<a href="spotify:artist:4x6x242NDWoFqIrf8plXIE" data-name="30 Century Man">30 Century Man</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:03231gXny6uGhh2AMdCVWk" data-name="Just Me and the Geese">Just Me and the Geese</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1t56JNFS7neP1PDPe67rHZ" data-name="Mixtur">Mixtur</a>) plays cello on several tracks. When playing live, Watching Planes are joined by Harry Bowers on guitar and Professor Tim Wright on keyboards.
