Wax Heart Sodality

Wax Heart Sodality are a mysterious gothic garage rock outfit from the North-East. The band came together to elevate an individual down on their luck and to create something positive out of the humdrum and the mundane. To avoid preconceptions leading to misconceptions that could take focus from their music, they maintain their anonymity via their masks.

Sonically, the quartet produces an expansive sound filled with piercing post-punk guitar, reverb-drenched baritone and gnarly beats. They are reminiscent of bands such as Bauhaus, Danzig and Depeche Mode and are cut from the same cloth as contemporaries such as Walt Disco and Urban Heat. Their music focuses on the undercurrents of the every day and the many masks we wear to be able to navigate through life, maintain the status quo and protect who we really are.

Live, the band’s theatrics and gyrations occupy the eyes, whilst the ears are overwhelmed by dark, impassioned tones that sync with the heart.
