For Wayne Sutton, former lead guitarist and co-songwriter of '90s hitmakers Sister Seven, music has been a lifetime journey. While his new solo album, Blue Worm, his third overall and first in nearly 15 years, marked a return to his roots, his journey as a musician continues to evolve.
Released after a reunited Pike & Sutton duo album and a canceled international tour due to the pandemic, Blue Worm was a creative response to a time of "fear, anger and uncertainty." The album was recorded in a 1914 wood-and-adobe church in the desert ghost town of Terlingua, Texas, and co-produced by Wayne and award-winning engineer Bill Palmer.
Since the release of Blue Worm, Wayne has collaborated with Bill Palmer on additional albums. When he's not touring, he continues to play local gigs and works as a music teacher. He finds songwriting to be a special and therapeutic way to express himself. Wayne's music, which bridges rock, folk, and roots, is a testament to his own hard-won sense of hope and his belief that "music keeps growing as long as you keep your heart open."
