WAZI (he/they) is a DJ, producer, and songwriter based in New York. Their music delves into ancestral remembering /storytelling through songs for protectors of Black freedom, Black trans and queer resistance, joy, grief, healing and explorations of self and community. Moving between and outside of genres like House, R&B, Soul, Amapiano, Hip Hop, Jazz, and more, WAZI embraces soul-stirring rhythms of Black dance music from diverse corners of the diaspora that become his sonic sanctuary, where each record pulses with the heartbeat and journey through spirit and sound.
