Experimental singer-songwriter, emo-folk and bedroom-pop project by visual artist, Morgan Motes (AKA the alt-country project, Big Best Friend). WWGTE began to take shape in 2014 through house shows and small opening gigs in the Gainesville, Florida music scene, releasing the “Keep Me Posted” EP on Valentine’s Day, 2015. In 2016, with the help of some hometown friends, Morgan released ICMHO, the project’s first LP, containing much of the groundwork that would become the through-line for the albums to come. Later that same year the album “Purgatory” released, a record that explored separation, love, and distance. A first foray into bedroom pop aesthetics. In 2017, the “Bedbug” EP released, a project that consist of demos for a full album that was scrapped that same year. 2018 saw the release of both “Variety Peaches” and SWI&OL, two albums that looked deeply and with bite into first-time real heartbreak. In 2023, Motes revived the project after a 5 year hiatus with the release of his largest project to date, “From the Torrential Snows of Florida," what he believes to be his musical self-portrait. On March 1st 2024, “PRAISE HEALTH” released, an album that quietly beckons safety and healing through depictions of real tragedy and loss, and movements towards progress and resolution. Currently residing in central Florida, Morgan holds a hand to the blinding sun, or to his guitar or paint brush, or laundry basket on the weekends, and awaits the strike of new inspiration.
