In 2018, Johnny Benson, guitarist and vocalist, had the idea to form the band, taking inspiration from bands like Sleep, Monolord, Windhand, and similar acts. The difficulty in finding members who were familiar with the style became a real obstacle that prevented the project from taking off. Because of that, even with several songs already written, the band went on hiatus until 2023, when Johnny Benson and Pedro Noga met and discovered their shared interest.
In 2025, Weedhermit solidified its lineup with the addition of Jonathan Buratto on bass and Thiago Hilgenberg on lead guitar, and then released its first studio work titled "Night Road Trip". The music was recorded partly at RG Studio and partly in a home studio, and the cover art was done by Misteryousfour from Singapore.
