After spending nearly a decade in Nashville writing song after song soaked in heartbreak and melancholy, Wes found himself burned out, both creatively and personally. “I wasn’t even trying to write sad songs anymore,” he says. “It’s just all that ever came out.” Eventually, the weight of it pushed him back home to the Colorado mountains, hoping something might change.
It did. What followed was a creative reawakening. “It was the spark that reminded me why I started making music in the first place. It was an excuse to spend extra time with my brother, hang out with friends, make memories, and be creative. It all just started coming back during this process.”
