West Coast Hearts is the name of singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Rob McLoughlin. Rob began his musical journey at a young age, learning to play the guitar and piano in his early teens. He fell in love with songwriting and began writing his own songs.
Rob cut his teeth in New York City in the late '90s and early '00s, playing bass and lead guitar in the Hypertonics. Riding the wave of the rising underground indie rock scene, Rob played at clubs such as CBGBs, Acme Underground, Luna Lounge, Elbow Room, and The Continental. He moved to California in the early 2000s and continued to write and record as a solo artist.
In 2018, Rob released his debut solo LP, "The City & The Sea." The release was acclaimed, with critics praising Rob's songwriting and his unique melodic indie rock and pop blend. Rob has since released more LPs, "Summer's Heart" (2018), "Dark Moon" (2019), "Summer's Heart" (2018), "MMXXI" (2021), "Silent Street" (2022), "Modern Heartbreak" (2024), "Days of Gold" (2024), and "Golden Hour" (2025) .
West Coast Hearts returns with “Love & Loss,” a new release that captures the raw emotional landscape of relationships. The album’s minimalist black-and-white cover art sets the tone for a project that is both honest and unadorned, focusing on the essential themes of romance and heartbreak. Available now on Spotify, “Love & Loss” invites listeners to immerse themselves in its introspective soundscapes.
