Western Youth

<a href="spotify:artist:2nIqk1liwXuRuXcMz7fFPf" data-name="Western Youth">Western Youth</a> is a band of rock ‘n rollers and twangy crooners longing for an honest Americana yesteryear. Tender hearts rode hard; their lyrics are smart, harmonies sublime and guitar riffs searing and intricate. Defiance and staunch evolution define the band, whom Austin Chronicle declared “smolders with a Stonesy swagger.” They’ve billed with <a href="spotify:artist:251UrhgNbMr15NLzQ2KyKq" data-name="Rayland Baxter">Rayland Baxter</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6yHM0XQEdu9sIlbILMaKBp" data-name="Paul Cauthen">Paul Cauthen</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5K4gVy6DhNd39mSjuK95Y7" data-name="The Band Of Heathens">The Band Of Heathens</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1ZN1c1qWEGZNX1pGeKCPpf" data-name="Billy Strings">Billy Strings</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4w1ZBtHF0HxrGqQdB7i1it" data-name="Jamestown Revival">Jamestown Revival</a> and more, been a SXSW official showcasing band consecutively since 2019, and performed at Nashville’s AmericanaFest, Brooklyn AmericanaFest and Jam in the Van. Peter Blackstock of the The Austin American-Statesman called their 2018 self-titled full-length album debut “one of the best roots-based rock ‘n’ roll records to come out of Austin in quite some time,” and more recently during SXSW 2022 asked “is there a better rock band in Austin, TX right now?!” The band is set to release a pair of EPs later this year that were recorded at Jim Eno of <a href="spotify:artist:0K1q0nXQ8is36PzOKAMbNe" data-name="Spoon">Spoon</a>&#39;s Public Hifi Studio, engineered and mixed by Charles Godfrey best known for his work with the <a href="spotify:artist:3TNt4aUIxgfy9aoaft5Jj2" data-name="Yeah Yeah Yeahs">Yeah Yeah Yeahs</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:26opZSJcXshCmCwxgZQmBc" data-name="Whiskey Myers">Whiskey Myers</a>, and mastered by Ray Kennedy who&#39;s worked with singer-songwriter legends <a href="spotify:artist:60ht0hWRy1yjUDfNsLuHuP" data-name="Lucinda Williams">Lucinda Williams</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2UBTfUoLI07iRqGeUrwhZh" data-name="Steve Earle">Steve Earle</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2wJ4vsxWd7df7dRU4KcoDe" data-name="Sharon Van Etten">Sharon Van Etten</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0nJUwPwC9Ti4vvuJ0q3MfT" data-name="John Prine">John Prine</a>.
