Wezz (pronounced “wheeze”) got his name from having asthma as a kid. Drop the Y and add an I.E. for his city (Inland Empire) and the rest is history in the making!
With his Mom going to Dorsey High School in the middle of the “The Jungles”, she made sure to make a change for her Son! Being raised in the church, he was able to take a different path through life than the rough and sometimes life-threatening route his father took growing up in the Pomona area of CA., aka, “The Islands”.
He first left California to connect with his Dad once released from prison while in 8th grade; but the house in Fort Smith, AR. was raided and his father was sent back to prison.
He and his younger Sister moved back to California with their Mother.
He left California once again to reconnect with his Dad in NWA in 2008. Graduating High School the following year, and yet always having a love for music, he didn’t write his first song until 2013.
Being from the West Coast, it’s “Different” for Wezz to have such an East Coast style; but once you understand his influences, it all makes sense.
He intends to continue to push Hip-Hop music forward with his ability to complement a beat with his distinctive flow and willingness to speak on controversial issues his culture deals with.
His motto for life? Just three words:
INSPIRE DIFFERENT METHODS!!!
