<a href="spotify:artist:6c7eCPR9kkuKcIQPQSAOBR" data-name="Whaleboat">Whaleboat</a> is an indie/shoegaze east coast trio from Savannah , Ga consisting of members Blake Yokeley (guitars) , Brent (vocals, bass) Collins and Sean Moloney (drums, keys). Savannah Now journalist Christopher Berinato describes the bands sound as “sun-dappled waves of guitar, driving drums, Peter Hook-bass and soaring vocals that sound as spacious as their shoegaze indebted” influences. Frank Ricci of Connect Savannah also describes the band as a “dreampop-shoegaze sound, which has a distinct British accent, reminiscent of early 90s <a href="spotify:artist:7bu3H8JO7d0UbMoVzbo70s" data-name="The Cure">The Cure</a> and lesser-known pioneers of the genre like <a href="spotify:artist:2duIh1sS0qsKqvoPm0X2g4" data-name="Kitchens Of Distinction">Kitchens Of Distinction</a> ”. Their debut single Socialite was released in 2013 and a year later released the EP Convoys (2014). In November 2020 the band self released the dual single Sunburst/Darkside (2020). In mid 2021 released another dual single Waves/ Night Swimming-Abyss.
