October 27, 2003, Demetris Rydell Ragland aka Whoada (Whoa/Duh) was born in Selma, Alabama.
His music journey began at the age of 12 when he and his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia in the year of 2016. Within a short time of arriving, he quickly discovered the vast amount of rappers coming out of Atlanta. This furthered his interest in local artists such as Future, Young Thug and Rae Sremmurd. After a year’s time, Whoada also had ideas and stories to tell. He began writing rhymes over YouTube beats and releasing them on SoundCloud.
By the age of 15 he started preforming in upcoming artist showcases around Atlanta. This led him to being discovered by music producer/songwriter Kaleb Jordan. Kaleb quickly saw his talent and wanted to A&R Whoada with an all around music career after discovering this was only his second live performance.
A few months after meeting they got to work building a sound, tracks, and exploring some of Whoada’s other musical interest within the rap scene ranging from the sounds of Ski Mask, XXX Tentacion, Lil Uzi, Drake, and even some influences from outside genres such as System of a Down. After a few months in, the covid 19 pandemic started and postponed the rest of the world into uncertainty, but behind the scenes it pushed them to work even harder then they had before to be ready for when the pandemic ended.
Now In 2022, at the age of 18, Whoada is ready to show the hard work he’s put in and release the art he’s created.
