Years passed and the tapes piled up, left to rot in his basement. In 2013, some friends rediscovered them, digitized the tapes and posted the tracks on Soundcloud. From those tapes, songs were pieced together as the 13-track album "Songs From My Parents Basement". The album showcased his simple yet clever songwriting and signature lo-fi production. Since then, Wholewheat has started writing and recording again - continuing to refuse the studio for the simplicity of recording at home.
