Wide Sands is the fascinating collaboration between electronic and classical music. Two styles, separated by atmospheres, are combined into a new world, where violins and synthesized sounds flow smoothly into each other, made possible by the deep understanding of music that unites the two musicians. Their backgrounds could not be more different, and yet the music shows again and again how boundaries of genres and backgrounds get removed easily to create new worlds of sound.
Marie-Luise Dingler completed her solo violin studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Mannheim, Germany, and founded the violin duo "The Twiolins" with her brother Christoph. Together they inspire audiences all over the world, concert tours have taken them to New Zealand, China and India, and many other places. They recorded award-winning albums on a regular basis and colaborate with artists and composers all over the globe.
Jan Kalt is a music producer and recording studio operator from Mannheim. In his twenties he had various CD production functions with regional bands from the Rhine-Main area, later on, he started producing electronic music with the Atari ST and Cubase. The first home studio was built in the mid-90s, when he was still running his record shop near Frankfurt. Now he is a trained SAE audio engineer with his own studio, producing and recording with famous artists around the globe.
Both are based in Mannheim, Germany.
