WIEGAND is a Synthpop/Darkwave band from Pulheim near Cologne, consisting of Helge Wiegand (songwriting, production, and vocals) and Jens Domgörgen (live support, social media, and booking). Helge is known, among other things, as a band member of T.O.Y. and occasionally as a keyboardist for DIORAMA. Jens has been a moderator at major scene festivals for many years,
such as the Amphi Festival.
WIEGAND songs are catchy, melancholic, danceable, and come with a high guarantee of being earworms and sing-alongs. In 2018, WIEGAND released their debut album titled "Released," featuring the single "Floating Away," with remixes by Frozen Plasma, Mental Discipline, and T.O.Y. In 2020, they followed up with the single "Get Informed." Additionally, WIEGAND provided their own remixes for Solitary Experiments ("Every Now and Then") and Mental Discipline ("Empty").
In the spring of 2023, they released the single "Pied Pipers" with club remixes by Rob Dust, Mental Discipline, and Brigade Enzephalon, as a precursor to the highly anticipated second WIEGAND album titled "Arrived." The album was shortly released digitally on all major platforms and for the first time as a limited DigiPak Audio CD. It held the number 1 position on the GEWC chart for three consecutive weeks.
WIEGAND has performed live as a support act for Peter Heppner and Rroyce, as well as at various festivals, including the recent appearance at the 2023 Amphi Festival.
