Wild & Company emerged from the creative synergy of lead singer and guitarist John Torres and bassist Ian Tait, two seasoned musicians bound by their love of rootsy indie rock and an enduring friendship. The band's inception can be traced back to a significant turning point in John's life when he took a leap of faith by renovating and opening Park City Music Hall in 2021. This venture, far from diverting him from his musical aspirations, became a fountain of inspiration. The vibrant community that sprouted around Park City Music Hall breathed new life into his songwriting, laying the groundwork for what would soon become Wild & Company. This period of growth and connection proved to be a fertile ground, with much of the band's material being penned in the wake of the music hall's opening, signaling the birth of a new and exciting project.
As Wild & Company began to take shape, John and Ian's collaboration quickly revealed its magic. Influenced by the likes of Wilco, My Morning Jacket, and Dawes, the duo embarked on their musical journey in 2022, crafting songs that resonate with their shared passion. Their early sessions at Tarquin Studios with Kurt Leon were marked by a seamless and organic flow, indicating they were onto something truly special.
