William Lamar

William Lamar McCray Jr, known as William Lamar was raised in Rochester, New York. A young man who found himself in his music, by mixing spiritual attributes of gospel and hip hop swagger, William Lamar desire is to set a new trend in rhythm and blues today. Lamar started singing at the age of six on his grandmother’s porch and from there is where his love of music began. At eleven, Will attended the Rochester School of the Arts where he majored in Vocal Music and graduated as Honor Roll student. Performing has never been a problem for this young man. He has received Stars of Tomorrow nominations in Smokey Joes Café and Ragtime as a sophomore in high school. He’s also participated in the New York City and Chicago Heritage festivals where his solo and performing ability lead his ensemble to Place 1st taking home Gold, also known in his home town as a dynamic performer. William has had the privelege to perform aside such greats Roscoe Dash Barry Manilow Michael Bolton and many more William has studied music and acting at Eastman School of Music and Genesee Community Colleges While moving to Atlanta William Lamar is currently signed to, I Keep It Classic.
