Afrikaans rocker Willim Welsyn have released six critically acclaimed albums – three solo albums, two albums with his band Die Sunrise Toffies and Shunt, an English rock album under the name William Welfare. Blitzkriek is his 7th full-length album and went straight to No.1 on the iTunes South Africa Rock Album charts on the day of its release on 29th May 2017 and in 2018 it was nominated for a South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Rock album.
He’s been nominated for a SAMA and received a Huisgenoot Tempo Award for his album Maanplaas. He also hosts the popular, weekly podcast show WAT Met Willim Welsyn where he interviews legendary South African artists, musicians, actors, writers and industry professionals. In April 2016 Welsyn’s show became the first Afrikaans podcast to reach the number 1 position on iTunes South Africa's charts in the Performing Arts category, since then he's been on the top ten every week.
