Willowspeak

Willowspeak is a progressive folk artist based in Los Angeles, celebrated for a distinctive sound that intricately weaves together strands of folk music with elements from genres like post-rock and jazz. This fusion results in a rich tapestry of finger-style and percussive guitar techniques, live looping arrangements, and ambient soundscapes. Their compositions often delve into nature-inspired metaphors and introspective themes, guiding listeners through unexpectedly adventurous sonic journeys. With their 2017 self-produced EP, 'hudson', Willowspeak painted the sonic landscape of a literal and figurative journey through the Northeast Appalachian mountains. Turning to the solace and wisdom of nature, they found clarity and inspiration to produce the first batch of songs introducing a reflective, adventurous, and powerful perspective through their expression of progressive-folk.

After two more self-produced singles, 'Inside Our Heads', and 'Part of Me, No More', Willowspeak met LA based producer Billy Lefler, exploring their first work together with 2024 single, 'Out They Flow'.
The most recent release, 'Run Towards The Light', a powerful anthem of struggle and overcoming challenges, showed Willowspeak's sound leaning into a bigger sound with a folk-pop influence.
An anticipated 5-track EP due in summer of 2025 eagerly awaits.
