Wilma

The Wilma band won the hearts of music lovers and critics alike with their debut album Pölyä kuusta in 1992. From there, Wilma's gently wistful, floating music shone, but punctuated with elegant guitar crackles and organ riffs that leaned towards psychedelia.

With their Claudius album in 1993, Wilma dived deeper into the experimental, My Bloody Valentine-style guitar wave heaven. Their third album, 1996's Suuri Valkea, reached a wider audience. The album's machine- and electro-influenced sounds were produced by a well-recognized team, including A.W. Yrjänä. The Lovestore album from 2000, on the other hand, contains girl-band tunes that go back as far as the 60´s.

However, the relationship between past and future is in a state of constant change. As Wilma celebrated the 30th anniversary of the release of their debut album in the spring of 2022 the band members began to tickle the idea of returning to those magical moments when music unites people on and off stage. In 2024 Wilma returned back on stage and released their album Suuri Valkea on vinyl reissue.

In 2025 Wilma becomes even more active by releasing new music for the first time in 25 years. The song "Kalifornia" is released in February 2025. The band also releases its second album Claudius (1993) on vinyl reissue.
