This is Wisdumb, an alternative rock-quartet based in Leuven, Belgium. The band consists of Maarten Vandewalle (lead guitar), Tomas Colsoul (drums), Kasper Versweyveld (bass) and Lander Baeten (vocals, rhythm guitar & keys). Wisdumb wants to leave their listeners touched, while remaining grounded in the infectious and haunting groove of their music: Music that emerges form the unavoidable yet essential tension between the four band members.
Wisdumb started off as a tripartite band, with a different drummer, Lander as frontman and current drummer Tomas on bass. These three high school mates started jamming to their favourite songs back when Lander’s untamed long hair was still flying around.
After a little while, it became clear that changes were necessary. Tomas was promoted to the sticks with a new talent coming in: Kasper on bass. A final addition to the band was guitarist Maarten, who was inspired by Lander’s remarkable guitar skills.
Since every member of the band went to the same school, this became the first stage where Wisdumb gained experience. After many lockdown rehearsal sessions, the band has been gradually conquering their hometown Leuven with shows in youth houses and festivals.
All of this has led to what Wisdumb is today: an alternative hardrock band with driving rhythms, distorted riffs and mind-blowing solos, alternated by lucid keys. Listen and enjoy!
