Wolfy Funk Project

Being one of the most distinctive funk projects in Athens over the last years, WFP is a music collective that combines traditional soul-funk sounds with the modern stream of the hip-hop scene.


The band was formed in the summer of 2007 in Athens, as a jazz studying trio but the need for composing original music came up relatively soon. The prospect of a dynamic musical collective which can be alternated and forever evolving, is personified by Kostas Stamou (bass), Aggelos Diamantopoulos (drums), Nikos Martziokas (percussion), Stamatis Lekatis (keys & programming), Billa Qause (beat making & scratch) & George Koltsiou (guitar)


Their debut single “From Scratch” was released in March 2014 by Under A Groove® and pressed in a limited edition 7inch red vinyl.


On June 16th, 2016 their single “Mindtrap” was first released on the web and since then is on the airplay of several major radio stations in Greece.


The collaboration with guest artists (vocals, MCs, brass) at their live shows, is reflected in their debut album "Mindtrap" (lp, 12”), which was released in November 2016 by Under A Groove®. The album produced by the talented producer and guitarist George Koltsiou who became a permanent member of the project later on.


Their explosive and powerful live performances featuring several musicians established them as a unique musical entity in the funk scene of Athens that boost them to the studio for recording new music.
