Wordbenda is a Kenyan-born global hip hop and spoken word artist known for lyrical depth, storytelling, and purpose-driven music. With over a decade of experience as a writer and performer, his sound blends hip hop, Afro-poetic expression, and spoken word to create music that is both reflective and socially aware.

Since graduating from Sauti Academy in 2012, Wordbenda has performed on stages across Kenya and beyond, steadily building a reputation for thoughtful lyricism and high-energy live performances. His journey gained international attention in 2017 when CNN featured his music story. In 2019, he released The Lion EP, a fully live-band-recorded project that showcased his commitment to musical craftsmanship and experimentation.

Known for his ability to freestyle rap off the dome, Wordbenda’s performances combine storytelling, improvisation, and audience engagement. His recent releases, including Moyo Wa Simba, Mkenya, and Wakati, explore themes of identity, leadership, spirituality, and social responsibility.
