WRST Collective, founded in Cairo in 2022 by a group of music producers, visual artists, and experts in sustainable art production and strategic alliances, is an interdisciplinary art collective dedicated to creating a space and a practical guide to help independent artists and collectives build a sustainable ecosystem and produce their work on a collaborative and cooperative basis.
At its core, WRST was built to support and develop the new wave of Arabic electronic and hybrid music, including emerging movements in indie, electronic, and shaabi sounds rising from Egypt’s evolving sonic landscape. The collective focuses on creating alternative production models beyond conventional industry structures, grounded in the collaborative planning, execution, and resource-sharing of its members.
Our community consists of music producers, musicians, sound engineers, and visual artists, and we work alongside them to connect with the music industry, film, fashion, and broader creative networks. WRST was established as a foundational and expressive space, committed to redefining how contemporary Arabic music and art are created, shared, and sustained, with an emphasis on collaboration, strategic partnerships, and financial sustainability.
