Wyatt Coleman hasn’t named one of his own songs since “Hot Air Balloon” in 2021. The musician and sound engineer lets his fans vote for the song titles and artwork through his MADEBYUS project, giving listeners a huge stake in the art. Because he releases music monthly, and at times weekly, fans have been handed a major role in the creation, reinforcing that the art doesn’t exist without the fan.
Almost 10,000 people have voted for song titles and artwork through his website. Coleman has produced the majority of his own music since 2020 and is hands on with the entire process.
Drawn to music since childhood, Coleman recorded his first song at 13 after getting his hands on a laptop and an Xbox headset, an experience that sparked his interest in sound engineering and making music sound good from start to finish.
Competitive by nature, Coleman is a sucker for all things sports. He played tennis growing up but has golfed a lot since, often weaving sports references into his music. Believing music will live forever, that idea continues to drive his vision and ground him in why he started making music.
