Dancehall songwriter/recording artist WyldChyle was born Omar Wright in the trench town parts of Kingston, Jamaica in 1984. His love for music flourished early in his adolescent years leading him to begin to sing/Deejay at the very young age of 14. Before he knew it, WyldChyle had written his first song at the age of 16 and hit the studio at 17 to record his first song titled “Gyal Dem Boss”.
Growing up, WyldChyle idolized worldwide and well-known music artists Beenie Man & Bounty Killer and made a vow to follow in their footsteps. Over the years, he has perfected his craft and went on to release several more successful records including “Gyal Dem Daddy”, “Badness”, and most recently released “Cheese”. Omar categorizes his music as hardcore dancehall, describing it as wild, fun, raunchy, and relatable hence why he named himself “WyldChyle”; his aim is to appeal to both women and men.
WyldChyle has opened for and performed alongside a plethora of music artists including well-known Jamaican artists Singer J, Shane O, and Khago to name a few and many more are in the works. He has just finished shooting the music video to “Over Ting Medley” in which he features on alongside recording artist Fats.
Currently residing in Stamford, CT, WyldChyle, has established a few reputable catchphrases for himself following many performances he has held locally within the state of Connecticut, one being “Stamford Stand Firm”. To date, he records under his very own record label.
