Created by Matthew Force, Wyng is a virtual band consisting of three members: singer/multi-instrumentalist Lloyd Zimmerman, keyboardist Eschariah Zimmerman, and drummer/producer Scarlet Austin.
Debuting on April 13th, 2020, the album <a href="spotify:album:6olLeRt0ooNhGNC8KCdtRp" data-name="Terra Synthesis">Terra Synthesis</a> was released with zero marketing to a fanbase consisting of a few close friends and relatives. Critics of the album cited the distinct lack of lyrical content in most of the songs but praised what few vocals were included for their stylistic delivery and assertive writing. Though received well by friends, the album never found a wider audience and popularity remained stagnant. Terra Synthesis consists mostly of synthesizers and drums, with live bass and guitar recordings thrown in every now and then, contributing to its very digital sound. Although purportedly inspired by artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:1dfeR4HaWDbWqFHLkxsg1d" data-name="Queen">Queen</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7AC976RDJzL2asmZuz7qil" data-name="Yes">Yes</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0k17h0D3J5VfsdmQ1iZtE9" data-name="Pink Floyd">Pink Floyd</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:57DlMWmbVIf2ssJ8QBpBau" data-name="Toby Fox">Toby Fox</a>, Wyng has yet to display such influences in their music, more closely resembling genres such as Grunge, EDM, Lo-Fi and Classical.
Atmosphyre released September 17th, 2023 with little more fanfare than Terra Synthesis. This album, however, boasted far better production in most regards, including better performances and mixing. In response to the last album's poor reception, the number of instrumentals was brought down from eleven of thirteen, to nine of fourteen, resulting in far more lyrical content.
Wyng plans to release more music "eventually," including several singles and remixes of previous songs.
