WYRES is a collection of 2, multi-instrumentalist Fredrik Forell and vocalist/text writer Arvid Jonsson, the duo is also a combination of various musical influences and the life they live below zero degrees. Together they describe the hopelessness and the struggles in everyday life through grand electronic pop that tends to quickly stick in your head.
After being involved in several different projects including more members and more minds to satisfy, the two members decided it was just gonna be them for a while. They wanted to expand their individual sound without any special boundaries and just do whatever they wanted basically. After spending six months in their studio basement in Stockholm the result became WYRES.
The duo has been described as ”a new super band in the making”, ”summer pop perfection”, been praised by Robert Ham (Rolling Stones, Village Voice…) and been compared to The Knife and Lykke Li. The self titled debut EP is out now on Swedish imprint Something Beautiful.
