Xerick Jones from the Island of Aruba, has been creating music for over 10 years now. After him and his friends decided to have freestyle battles for fun, they decided to start going to the studio and record some ideas for tracks. During that time Xerick’s passion for music and rap began to grow and realized that he was meant for that genre and with the inspiration of none others than Wiz Khalifa, Biggie and Logic, he started to develop his music style.
For a year and a half he rapped in a group called Critikal, a group based in Aruba that released songs in Papiamento (Aruba’s language). After that he decided to focus on his solo career released an album called “X-Rated”, also in Papiamento, but after moving to the Netherlands he decided to start rapping in english to reach a bigger audience. Since then he has released a series of songs that include great rhymes, weed talks, social critics and ideal production. Through these songs this aruban artist is able to express his beliefs and his point of view of different aspects of society.
In december of 2014 he released a mixtape called “Think Global, not Local” and exactly a year later he released another mixtape called “Still Local”. Since the last mixtape, he has been releasing many singles that received a bigger audience and better critics.
