XEX is a progressive thrash and heavy metal band based in Boise, Idaho. Formed in 1997, the trio consists of Bryan Maddox (guitar and vocals), Alfred de Varona (bass and vocals), and Pete Wadams (drums and vocals).

Since their inception, XEX has carved a distinct path through the Northwest music scene, known for their heavy, eclectic, and progressive sound. They have released multiple albums, including "Anything Goes" in 2002, "Mixed Signals" in 2003, "Triad" in 2006, and "Vier" in 2014.

In 2006, the band faced a significant challenge when drummer Pete Wadams was critically injured in a car accident, leading to an extended hiatus. Fortunately, he recovered and resumed his playing duties, allowing the band to continue their musical journey.

XEX has shared the stage with national acts such as Brides Of Destruction, Floater, 3 Inches of Blood, and Hyrax. They also received a Jägermeister sponsorship in September 2004, further cementing their presence in the metal community.
