José Gregorio Sifontes, professionally known as XIFONTES (a stage name adopted following a legally required change), is a Venezuelan singer-songwriter born in Caracas on January 9, 1997. Recognized as one of the most prominent LGBTQ+ activists in Venezuela, he has built an online following of over 800,000 across social media platforms.
A content creator since the age of 14, XIFONTES developed his passion for music during his teenage years, studying the craft and performing in a youth choir. In February 2025, at the age of 28, he released his debut EP Issues de Amor, a project that reflects his deep personal connection to music.
After the Controversy: Following the name change to XIFONTES in August 2025, he released one single and two EPs within the same month, totaling 11 new tracks.
Controversy: On April 10, 2025, his entire discography was unexpectedly removed from all digital platforms, including one album, three EPs, and two singles — a total of 31 original tracks. The removal stemmed from a name conflict with another artist who lacked official distribution channels, which led to the mistaken merging of their catalogs under XIFONTES's profiles and ultimately the deletion of his work.
