Hailing from Yvelines, a wooded region that invites introspection and contemplation, Yaåster is an independent artist based in Paris. Author, composer, and performer, his first self-produced EP, "Out Of My Zone," was released in May 2023.
With an androgynous style reminiscent of "Seventies Bowie," as described by Le Monde, Yaåster's soft and ethereal voice touches us with the romantic sensitivity that runs through his lyrics, in both English and French. He speaks to us about vivid emotions, darkness and light, those that transform our lives and come from the heart.
Influenced by big figures in the modern psychedelic scene such as Tame Impala, Temples, or Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Yaåster shapes a brilliant sound, blending psychedelic pop and unapologetic rock. His guilty pleasure: a "wet" sound where reverb and echo intertwine, offering a dreamy and otherworldly dimension to his compositions.
After notable appearances on TV and radio (Culturebox, France 24, RTL2...), and being hailed as the pirate of psychedelic pop, Yaåster returns in the autumn with some acoustic delights.
"Spleen d'été," a new single in French, is set to be released on November 17th, along with a music video. It's a stripped-down song born from the feeling of loneliness experienced during summer vacations. Like a mirage shimmering before his disoriented eyes, the fleeting love of an imaginary summer ignites in a golden hour song.
Mark your calendar for November 17th for a clearly magnetic return.
