Yajj

Bay Area native,Yajj, is a lyricist, producer and studio engineer from Oakland, CA. Yajj began making music at a young age. She was singing, writing lyrics and performing for her church and school as early as four years old. Through adolescence, she played multiple instruments, such as piano, acoustic guitar and electric bass guitar. Shortly after middle school, she began engineering and producing.

It wasn’t until January of 2018 that Yajj released her first single, Second Grade. As the year continued, she dropped four more singles (Home Alone, Free Time, NIA, $ I N G L E (Kevin’s Hart Remix) and ended the year with her highly anticipated debut EP, titled Oakland Baby.

It is evident that Yajj uses her platform and the art of lyricism to speak about the things she is most passionate about. Her goal is to, “connect with [her] fans and help them understand that they aren’t alone in their battles and shortcomings…”
