Yanik Coen

Yanik Coen is a Miami based Canadian-born DJ, producer & label CEO with 2 decades of experience under his belt. Raised in Montreal with purely Mediterranean roots, his influences range from disco, soul, Hip Hop to Latin & Oriental music, but it was a school trip to London in ‘01 that made him fall for House music; changed his life. The DJ journey began in 2005 in his hometown where he quickly made his presence felt, performing alongside dance music icons by the likes of Bob Sinclar, Tiësto & Deep Dish. Acknowledgement early in his career from House legend Erick Morillo gave Yanik immediate exposure for his Remixes of the Jose Nunez classic 'Bilingual'. Both his profile and artistry grew with subsequent releases on prestigious Dance music labels Subliminal & Armada. 2012 was a pivotal year in Coen's career, releasing his single Throw Your Handz Up. Later that year, he moved to Miami, a city where he truly felt his sound belonged, and he wasn’t wrong. He rapidly went on to dominate the scene and become one of magic city's most influential and sought after DJs, curating one of the country’s most iconic weekly parties. His focus is now set on running his brand Not Everyone Understands™️ dividing his time between Miami & Ibiza. His latest release on the label "PASTÈQ" garnered support from some of today’s biggest names. Through the years, Yanik has developed a very unique sound: sexy, balearic and percussion driven, his energy can be recognized as soon as he hits the decks.
